We are planning to do latrines in sandy soils. It will be great if you can share with us a bit of your experiences especially some plans, desings, specifications, etc. for family latrines. We are worried about pit stability. Something cheap is nice.

The proposed latrines in sandy soils would create more problems than they could possibly solve: first, sand is great as an absorbant/dispersant, very porus, etc, next: the excretions would merely disperse into the local water table and eventually pollute the region around it immensely, thereby creating another problem: possible dispersal of deadly germs such as HIV/AIDS...(so dihrap jgn mencube yer..)
